Anthony Brooks : Principal Architect, Managing Director

Anthony Brooks graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1984 with a Diploma in Architecture and a Masters Degree (Upper Second Class Honours) in Architecture. During his final two years at Edinburgh he concentrated his study on Housing, Theatre Design and Sports Stadia.

After graduating from Edinburgh University,  Mr. Brooks worked with award winning firms Baxter Clarke and Paul (Glasgow) and subsequently with Reiach and Hall Architects (Edinburgh) under whose mentorship he completed his Membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1985.

In Barbados, he took up a position with one of the island’s leading architectural practices where, after one year ,he was named an Associate of the company. He remained with that practice for a further four years before founding Tony Brooks Architects Ltd.

Mr. Brooks is also an Honours Graduate from The Cave Hill Campus of The University of the West Indies and a member of the Barbados Institute of Architects.

Mr. Brooks believes that, just as technology and innovation drove the development of architecture through the centuries, it will continue to do so unabatedly in the future. In that regard, he holds that the profession must embrace change and re-engineer itself if it is to remain relevant in the market place.

In that regard, he has championed the wholesale adoption of building information modelling (BIM) technologies in the company’s workflows with the use of Bentley AECOsim Building Designer. Indeed, he is arguably one of the few practitioners of this software technology in the Caribbean.

Mr. Brooks is a PADI Rescue Diver, a keen Ballroom and Latin dancing enthusiast and an avid Freemason.

Alana Brooks : Associate Architect

A deep connection with nature, a fascination with avant-garde creatives, and a strong belief in the power of civic engagement define the distinctive interests of Alana Brooks.

These passions are not just abstract ideals—they are reflected in every aspect of her academic, personal, and professional life.

Alana holds a B.Sc. in Social Sciences from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto. She continues to contribute to the academic community as an instructor at two of Barbados' tertiary institutions.
